Draft King to Appear at Otakon 2015

It has just been announced that Draft King will be heading to Otakon this July! The news comes one week after Otakon’s 2015 Guess the Friday Concert Guest contest was launched.

Rumors about Draft King making an appearance at Otakon were reported by Very Good Days members Elsuke and Destonus, who attended Anime Central in Rosemont, Illinois on the weekend of May 15-17. When the 2015 Guess the Friday Concert Guest contest was posted a few days later, any doubt that Draft King was really coming to the United States was immediately quelled after reading the contest’s three clues.

Clue #1:
There are at least two women in the group

Clue #2:
They play rock music

Clue #3:
Some members came from another group

For anyone who has been following Stereopony and Draft King, that last clue is a definite giveaway. A fourth clue in the form of a haiku was also given, which doesn’t take much analyzing to realize that it’s about Stereopony and Draft King.

swiftly cross the planes
on twinned steeds, manes in the wind
their spring is now past

aflame with summer,
their thunder echoes loudly
the zephyr’s ruler

The winners of the contest each receive a prize pack including “front-of-line access to your guest’s concert, panel, and autograph sessions, plus some swag!”

Several Very Good Days members are already planning to attend. It has been over three years since NOHANA, SHIHO, and MAO have visited the United States at Sakura-Con 2012 in Seattle, Washington. This will be Erica’s first trip and the entire group’s first trip together as Draft King. We are looking forward to Otakon 2015. Will we see you there?

Draft King has yet to make an official announcement on their website or on Twitter. We will update this post with more details as they come.

Very Good Days members, if you are planning on attending, we are using this thread in the Forum to make plans.
