Very Good Days Staff is currently recruiting new members. VGD Staff consists of the site administrators, forum moderators, translators, and other contributors, who are all dedicated fans of AIMI, Draft King, and Stereopony.

Blog Archiver (Stereopony)

One of Very Good Days’s goals is to translate all of Stereopony’s blog entries into English, which is broken down into a four-step process. The Blog Archiver’s responsibilities fall into the first step of this process, posting all of the blog entries to the forum for the forum’s blog translators. It is a simple task that involves a lot of copying and pasting but is very time consuming and redundant due to the huge amount of blog entries that have been published. The ideal candidate is someone who can work unsupervised at their computer for a long period of time.

Responsibilities:

• Posts all Stereopony Official Blog entries to the forum
• Posts all Stereopony Staff Blog entries to the forum
• Posts all Stereopony AIMI Blog entries to the forum
• Posts all Stereopony NOHANA Blog entries to the forum

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of 6109, Ameblo, and Yahoo! Mobage
• Basic understanding of XenForo BBCode
• Ability to follow precise procedures
• Ability to sit at a computer and focus on the task at hand for a long period of time

 

Blog Translator (Stereopony)

One of Very Good Days’s goals is to translate all of Stereopony’s blog entries into English, which is broken down into a four-step process. The Blog Translator’s responsibilities fall into the second step of this process, translating all of the blog entries and preparing them to be published on the Very Good Days website. Translating blog entries is a lengthy process due to the amount of text as well as difficulty in translating slang and informal phrases from one language into another. The time required for translating each blog entry is dependent on the translator’s expertise. The ideal candidate is someone with good understanding of both the Japanese and English languages or someone with experience in Japanese-English translations. Fluency in both languages would be a huge plus but is not required.

Responsibilities:

• Translates all Stereopony Official Blog entries posted to the forum from Japanese to English
• Translates all Stereopony Staff Blog entries posted to the forum from Japanese to English
• Translates all Stereopony AIMI Blog entries posted to the forum from Japanese to English
• Translates all Stereopony NOHANA Blog entries posted to the forum from Japanese to English

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of XenForo BBCode
• Good understanding of the Japanese and English languages and ability to translate from one language to the other
• Good understanding of translation software, if needed
• Ability to follow precise procedures
• Ability to fully translate multiple blog entries in a single day is a plus but not required

 

Event Calendar Manager

The Event Calendar Manager is responsible for updating the Very Good Days website’s event calendar with all of the information for upcoming live events for AIMI, ALiCE IN UNDERGROUND, Draft King, Hiddy, and Stereopony. The ideal candidate is someone who regularly follows all of the bands/artists and knows how to use WordPress or similar content management systems.

Responsibilities:

• Manages all posts on the Very Good Days website’s event calendar
• Manages and maintains all Live Event Schedule threads on the forum

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of WordPress or similar content management systems
• Basic understanding of HTML and XenForo BBCode
• Ability to follow precise procedures
• Basic understanding of the Japanese language is a plus but not required

 

Interview Translator

One of Very Good Days’s goals is to translate all of Draft King’s and Stereopony’s interviews into English, which is broken down into a three-step process. The Interview Translator’s responsibilities fall into the second step of this process, translating all of the interviews and preparing them to be published on the Very Good Days website. Translating interviews is a lengthy process due to the amount of text as well as difficulty in translating slang and informal phrases from one language into another. The time required for translating each interview is dependent on the translator’s expertise. The ideal candidate is someone with good understanding of both the Japanese and English languages or someone with experience in Japanese-English translations. Tabs Writer, Bass (Stereopony)

One of Very Good Days’s goals is to have a resource of tabs for all of Stereopony’s songs. The Tabs Writer’s responsibility is to write tabs for all of Stereopony’s songs that have not been tabbed.

Responsibilities:

• Writes bass tabs for all of Stereopony’s songs
• Optionally, promotes the tabs archive by uploading cover videos to YouTube

Requirements:

• Ability to play bass
• Good understanding of writing bass tabs
• Good understanding of Notepad, TextEdit, or a similar program that creates TXT files
• Recording equipment and video editing skills to create cover videos and upload them to YouTube is a plus but not required

The Video Manager is also responsible for updating the Very Good Days website with the latest videos from Draft King’s official YouTube channel. The Video Manager’s final responsibility is to maintain a personal archive of any and all Draft King videos offline, complete with titles, event names, dates, and other details. The ideal candidate is someone who already has a large collection of videos.

Responsibilities:

• Manages the Draft King Videos section on the Very Good Days website
• Manages the Draft King Videos section on the forum
• Maintains a personal archive of any and all Draft King videos offline, complete with titles, event names, dates, and other details

Requirements

• Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and Google Spreadsheets
• Basic understanding of HTML and XenForo BBCode
• Good organization skills
• Basic understanding of searching for and downloading videos
• A computer with sufficient storage space for an offline video archive

Website Updates Archiver

The Website Updates Archiver is responsible for posting all of the latest updates from all artists’ official websites to the forum. The artists’ official websites are the most important primary source for news and information, so it is important that the Website Updates Archiver does not lag when there is a new update so that the Website Updates Translator can do their job. The ideal candidate is someone who is active on the forum and actively following all of the artists that Very Good Days supports.

Responsibilities:

• Posts all AIMI Official Website updates to the forum
• Posts all ALiCE IN UNDERGROUND Official Website updates to the forum
• Posts all Draft King Official Website updates to the forum
• Posts all Stereopony Official Website updates to the forum

Requirements:

• Ability to check for website updates multiple times per day
• Ability to log in to the forum at any moment’s notice to update the archive as quickly as possible
• Basic understanding of XenForo BBCode
• Ability to follow precise procedures

 

Website Updates Translator

The Website Updates Translator is responsible for translating all of the latest updates from all of the artists’ official websites. The artists’ official websites are the most important primary source for news and information, so it is important that the Website Updates Translator translates the new update as quickly as possible so that the content can be published to the Very Good Days website. The ideal candidate is someone who is active on the forum, actively following all of the artists that Very Good Days supports, and can do quick Japanese-English translations.

Responsibilities:

• Translates all AIMI Official Website Updates from Japanese into English
• Translates all ALiCE IN UNDERGROUND Official Website Updates from Japanese into English
• Translates all Draft King Official Website Updates from Japanese into English
• Translates all Stereopony Official Website Updates from Japanese into English

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of XenForo BBCode
• Good understanding of the Japanese and English languages and ability to translate from one language to the other
• Good understanding of translation software, if needed
• Ability to log in to the forum at any moment’s notice to translate the new update as quickly as possible—may occasionally have to do the Website Updates Archiver’s job if you log in before them
