Stereopony Song of the Week, Week 4

SAKUNE

“Sakune” is a song that first appeared on Stereopony’s album OVER THE BORDER.

A song about life, dreams, and the space that youth have in their mind where all the roads diverge; at the turning points of our lives, we feel like we can’t do a lot but we want to have a place in the world we can call our own to start, stop, and continue our lives in. A song that speaks to the part of us that’s slowly growing up, getting braver to be whoever that we are. A place where our golden, happy memories gather is a place that we can always go and bask in the light. So, with that in mind, dreams in hand, we will all bloom!

The song is very slow-paced and laid-back with a very emotional feel. Lyrics that SHIHO wrote are simple and speak directly to the young heart who’s looking for direction. AIMI’s voice for this one is especially gentle-like, talking very softly to our hearts to never ever give up. It renews our faith in ourselves.

A song perfect for the end of January when the pompous start of the year dies down and the real road starts to open up ahead of us. This week’s Stereopony Song of the Week is about believing in oneself and just to keep trying.
