Stereopony Song of the Week, Week 1

Forever Blooming Flower

The first Stereopony Song of the Week is “Hana Hiraku Oka.” This song is an answer song to Stereopony’s most famous single “Hitohira no Hanabira.”

“Hitohira no Hanabira” was a song that was about a love that was regretted and completely suppressed. Despite whatever the feelings, the speaker feels like not giving up the love. Even though it’s very painful, there is a huge feeling of wanting to let go.

With “Hana Hiraku Oka,” the song revisits a love that is, perhaps, not lost yet. This love is the same one and its memories haunt the person, perhaps—and seeing their loved one, the smile is conjured once again, but the pain doesn’t go away.

A flower of love that was born many days ago is still blooming, and despite the odds, it will continue to bloom. Even if the wind tries to come between the light that shines over the water and tries to uproot the flower, it won’t get destroyed. The strength of the pain is shown with the very nature-like imagery of an invincible, forever blooming flower.

In “Hitohira no Hanabira,” a petal is used because it is the last straw in the relationship. Here, the symbol is changed to something “everlasting” to signify that even now the love goes on.

So enjoy the song of the week “Hana Hiraku Oka” as our love for Stereopony continues like a forever blooming flower!
